Mid County connects Nederland, Port Neches and Groves between Beaumont and Port Arthur. Each community has its own traditions, local businesses and neighborhoods, with the Neches River and the rest of the Golden Triangle close by.
Roots and local traditions
Nederland was settled by Dutch immigrants in 1898, a history celebrated at the Dutch Windmill Museum in Tex Ritter Park and at the annual Heritage Festival. Port Neches and Groves add their own Gulf Coast character to this connected part of Southeast Texas.
